Post 3: My best Holidays

Hi guys, today I will talk of my best holidays.

When I was eight, my family (my mom, grandmother and grandfather) and me went to the city of Constitución, which is located on Region del Maule's coast. We went during the summer, especially for the "Semanas maulinas," which are held in the last two weeks of February.

We always go on vacation to Constitution, every two or three years, but we had never gone for the "Semanas maulinas". I remember that I did many things with my family during those weeks, such as swim in the Maule's river, climb the Mutrún hill, go to fishing with my uncle Alberto (my grandfather's brother) and play on the beach with my friends summer, Maria Jose (a girl of my age) and her little sister Catalina, with whom I always share when I go to Constitución. And at night, I went out with my mom and my friends to watch the fireworks at the Maule’s river and listen to the guest singers.

Well this is my best holidays... Bye everyone and thanks for your time!

Post 2: Food and Forestry

Hi guys: today I will talk about a video of Geoff Lawton. In this video, called “7 food forests in 7 minutes”, Geoff talks about the Permaculture and presents a series of food forests that had been planted at Zaytuna farm over successive years.

In this video he explains the topics of the Permaculture, which is very associated with the interaction between food and forestry. In it Geoff starts talking about the importance of soil conditioners rich in organic matter and how they facilitate the germination and rooting of plants.

Initially, seedlings are not very good at capturing the nutrients provided for organic matter present in the soil, so they need to be associated with microorganisms, such as Rhizobium bacteria, that facilitate the process of fixing. So, with the help of these bacteria, the seedlings can grow and develop faster, forming trees each week, given the abundance of nutrients in the substrate. Once finished the process, soils richer in organic matter are achieved, thanks to the new contributions from the trees.

I believe that's possible in Chile. So I say to all households in urban, peri-urban and rural areas, that start to implementing these systems of permaculture, Now!... I think that... if I had land I would be doing it! Of course.

See you later!

Post 1: The Earth from Above

Hi guys today I will talk about a video made by a French photographer named Yann Arthus-Bertrand. In this video, called "A wide-angle view of fragile Earth", Yann presents his last three projects he has done about humanity and nature.

The first of them is a sequence of stunning aerial photographs of his album "The Earth from Above" that shows how our planet suffers different effects worldwide as the pollution from oil extraction, the disappearance of coral reefs product of global warming, melting icecaps and glaciers, and social problems as hunger. The second is a web project called "6 billion Others" where present us personal interviews from around the globe. Finally he presents his film ("Home") soon to be distributed for free, where the state of the planet is shown and many of the social and environmental problems that plague it.

This affects not only at the planet but also endangers us all of us. Therefore, we must be aware of this and create solutions for each of these problems. Consequently, as Yann Arthus-Bertrand says, we need to become aware of this and protect it soon, because it is our home, our Earth.

By everyone and become aware, please.
